Hammed Animashaun, Bessie Carter, Rosalie Craig, Sacha Dhawan, George Fouracres, Clare Perkins, Tom Mothersdale and Gemma Whelan are the next group of actors to be cast in Tim Crouch’s theatrical experiment An Oak Tree, which opens at The Other Palace this October.

Each performance sees Crouch take to the stage with a different second actor. Since its world premiere in 2005, it has become one of the most influential and widely celebrated plays of the 21st century, performed hundreds of times in more than 19 countries while continually reinventing itself.

A play that shaped the theatre landscape, its groundbreaking premise sees a different guest artist join Crouch for every performance, stepping on stage without ever having read or rehearsed the play. Over the past two decades, more than 350 performers have taken on this extraordinary theatrical challenge, creating a unique event every night and an audience experience like no other.

From Francesca Moody Productions, An Oak Tree will run at The Other Palace from October 5 – November 15, 2026. Animashaun will perform on October 29, with Carter on October 16, Craig on October 9, Dhawan on October 23, Fouracres on November 10, Perkins on October 13, Mothersdale on October 14 and Whelan on October 15.

Music is by Pete Gill, with piano by Simon Crane, production management by JBPM and casting director Naomi Downham.

Tickets are now on sale here.
