Tuppence Middleton (The Motive and the Cue) is joining the cast of Eline Arbo’s The Years, based on the novel by Annie Ernaux and currently running at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
Middleton takes over from Romola Garai, whose last scheduled performance, as planned, will be Saturday, March 8. Middleton’s first show will be on Monday, March 10. The Years will continue until April 19, 2025.
The actor joins a cast that includes Deborah Findlay, Gina McKee, Anjli Mohindra and Harmony Rose-Bremner, who all continue their roles playing one woman in this personal and political story, set against the backdrop of our rapidly changing world.

The original production and adaptation of The Years was first produced as De Jaren by Het Nationale Theater in The Hague, Netherlands, in 2022, before arriving in London at the Almeida Theatre.
The creative team includes music supervisor and sound designer Thijs van Vuure, set designer Juul Dekker, costume designer Rebekka Wörmann, lighting designer Varja Klosse, casting director Amy Ball and associate director Yasmin Hafesji.
