Great Scott! Three Marty McFlys will take to the stage of Back to the Future The Musical when the Adelphi Theatre show celebrates the original movie’s 40th anniversary on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

Olly Dobson and Ben Joyce, who both previously played the character, will return to the production alongside the currently Marty, Caden Brauch, for a special one-night performance, when all three will play the role through the evening.

Now in its fifth year at the Adelphi, this year also marks the 40th anniversary of the original movie, which was released July 3, 1985 in the US.

Marty McFly is a rock ‘n’ roll teenager who is accidentally transported back to 1955 in a time-travelling DeLorean invented by his friend, Dr Emmett Brown.  But before he can return to 1985, Marty must make sure his high school-aged parents fall in love in order to save his own existence.
