John Mackay and Daniel Burke will star in The Woman in Black when it begins a UK tour that will visit Alexandra Palace and Richmond Theatre later this year.
Mackay will play Arthur Kipps and Burke is The Actor in Stephen Mallatratt’s adaptation of Susan Hill’s novel.
The Woman in Black tells the story of a lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over his family by the spectre of a Woman in Black. He engages a young actor to help him tell his story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It begins innocently enough, but as they delve further into his darkest memories the borders between make-believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep.
From PW Productions, it is directed by Robin Herford, with designs by Michael Holt and lighting by Kevin Sleep.
For 33 years, The Woman in Black played a record-breaking run in the West End, with more than 13,000 performances at the Fortune Theatre before its final performance on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
The show visits Alexandra Palace from October 8 – 25. Tickets here.
It then returns to London and Richmond Theatre from November 25 – 29. Tickets here.
