Plays from Moisés Kaufman and Amanda Gronich, Nancy Medina and Ava Pickett will run at Stratford East in 2026 as part of new artistic director Lisa Spirling’s first season.

The East London venue will host the UK premiere of Kaufman and Gronich’s Here There Are Blueberries. Based on real events, the powerful play tells the story of a mysterious album featuring Nazi-era photographs which arrives at the desk of a US Holocaust Memorial Museum archivist.

As curators unravel the shocking truth behind the images, the album soon makes headlines and ignites a debate that reverberates far beyond the museum walls. Here There Are Blueberries tells the story of these historical photographs—what they reveal about the perpetrators of the Holocaust, and our own humanity. It runs from January 31 – February 28, 2026.
