Jonathan Hyde, Joanne Pearce, Richard Stirling, Chris Larkin and Zoë Waites will head the cast of The Gathered Leaves, a family drama written by Andrew Keatley that returns to Park Theatre this August.
The Pennington family have not been in the same room for 17 years, yet on the eve of William’s 75th birthday, all three generations gather in the hope that the mistakes of the past can be resigned to history.
Hyde plays the domineering patriarch William, Pearce is his long suffering, yet poised wife, Olivia, Stirling is the eldest son Samuel, Larkin plays the middle child, Giles, and Waites is Sophie, Giles’ wife.
The story of one family set over Easter weekend in 1997, the production also stars George Lorimer as Giles and Sophie’s son Simon and Ella Dale as their daughter, Emily. Olivia Vinall will play Alice, the estranged youngest child of William and Olivia, with Taneetrah Porter as her teenage daughter Aurelia, meeting the family for the first time.
The cast is completed by Joe Burrell as a young Samuel and Ellis Elijah as a young Giles.
The revival of The Gathered Leaves comes a decade after its premiere, and it will be directed by Adrian Noble.
The creative team also includes design by Dick Bird, lighting design by Paul Pyant and sound design by Max Pappenheim. Casting is by Gabrielle Dawes.
