Jamie Ankrah, Samuel Blenkin, Callie Cooke, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Nigel Lindsay and Bel Powley will star in the world premiere of Sam Grabiner’s Christmas Day, which debuts at the Almeida Theatre this December.

James Macdonald (Infinite Life, The Children) directs this “viciously funny” new play about identity, belonging, and the rituals we perform with the people we love.

There’s something perverted about a Christmas tree.
They’ve got an aura.
It looks perverted and it gives me the creeps.

In an abandoned building somewhere above the Northern Line, with foxes prowling the deserted streets outside, a Jewish family gathers on Christmas Day.

The set designer is Miriam Buether, with costume designer Evie Gurney, lighting designer Jon Clark, sound designer Max Pappenheim, intimacy director Lucy Hind, casting director Amy Ball and voice coach Hazel Holder.

The production opens on Tuesday, December 16, with previews from Tuesday, December 9, 2025, and runs until Thursday, January 8, 2026.
