Amanda Abbington and Rosie Day will be joined by Andrea Valls and Jonny Weldon for the world premiere of (This is not a) Happy Room, coming to King’s Head Theatre in March.

The company will be completed by Jazz Jenkins, Tom Kanji and Alison Liney.

From Katy Galloway Productions, the dark comedy is written by Day and directed by Hannah Price.

Meet the Hendersons, a happily dysfunctional family, reuniting for their dad’s third (or fourth?) wedding. Nobody expects the death of his bachelorhood to become an actual funeral… but it would be a waste of the buffet not to repurpose it, right?

Abbington plays Esther, Day is Elle, Liney is Agatha, Jenkins is Hayley, Kanji is Charles, Valls is Laura and Weldon plays Simon.

Sound design is by Adrienne Quartly, lighting design by Rory Beaton and set and costume design by Georgia de Grey.

It opens at King’s Head Theatre on March 31, with previews from March 26, and runs until April 27.
