Billy Crudup and Denise Gough will star in High Noon, Eric Roth’s debut stage play coming to the Harold Pinter Theatre this December for a strictly limited season.
Set in the American West of the 1800s, High Noon explores themes including courage vs cowardice, justice vs peace and duty vs desire. At its heart is the bond between Will Kane and Amy Fowler – a love tested by impossible choices as the clock ticks down to the return of deadly outlaw Frank Miller on the high noon train. The clock is ticking. Tick: Begin a new life together? Tock: Or take a stand for the greater good? As time runs out, one truth remains: if you don’t stand up for what’s worth saving, you risk losing it all.
Crudup plays Will Kane and Gough is Amy Fowler in the production directed by Thea Sharrock.
This new adaptation of the 1952 film is based on the screenplay by Carl Foreman, originally produced by Stanley Kramer and directed by Fred Zinnemann.
Paula Wagner and Tom Werner are producing High Noon along with Thomas Tull, Danny Cohen and Len Blvatnik.
It has set and costume design by Tim Hatley (Life of Pi, Back to the Future The Musical), lighting design by Neil Austin (Harry Potter & the Cursed Child, Born with Teeth) and the composer & music producer is Chris Egan. The casting director is Jina Jay and the general managers are Short Street Productions. The executive producer is Mark Rubinstein.
High Noon plays at the Harold Pinter Theatre from December 17, 2025 to March 7, 2026. Tickets here.
