Amy Allen, Tanya Katyal, Taraash Mehrotra and Nusrath Tapadar will star in I Dream of Theresa May, Vivek Nityananda’s political satire that will run at Tara Theatre this November.

Allen plays Theresa May, with Katyal as Jyoti, Mehrotra as Nikhil and Tapadar as Noor, in a show directed by Natasha Kathi-Chandra. It marks Kathi-Chandra’s directorial debut since becoming artistic director of the theatre.

In 2013, Nikhil, a gay Indian man living in London, is desperate to find a way to stay in the UK. He finds an unlikely mentor when his nemesis, Theresa May, appears at his flat with an offer to help – if he meets her standards.

I Dream of Theresa May is a deft political satire that shifts between comedy and nightmare as a queer brown man is radicalised by a diva in blue, the face of a right-wing British government: Theresa May.

The set and costume designer is Erin Guan, the sound designer is Holly Khan, the video designer is Gillian Tan, the lighting designer is Jodie Underwood and the movement director is Yemurai Zvaraya.

I Dream of Theresa May runs at Tara Theatre from November 17-29, 2025. Tickets here.
