The Royal Court has confirmed the full cast for The Unbelievers, Nick Payne’s new play about family, memory and hope that will debut this October.
Directed by Marianne Elliott and designed by Bunny Christie, it stars Nicola Walker as a mother facing the disappearance of her son. Ella Lily Hyland and Paul Higgins also appear, alongside Esh Alladi, Alby Baldwin, Harry Kershaw, Martin Marquez, Lucy Thackeray and Isabel Adomakoh Young.
A teenager disappears. Time fractures. His mother will never give up hope. The Unbelievers is a new play about the moments that shatter our world, and the ones that help us piece it back together.
The creative team also includes lighting designer Jack Knowles, composer and sound designer Nicola T Chang and movement director Etta Murfitt. Casting is by Charlotte Sutton.
The Unbelievers will run at the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Downstairs from Friday, October 10 to Saturday, November 29, 2025. Tickets here.
