Yolanda Mercy’s award-winning one-woman show Failure Project is coming to the Soho Theatre for a limited three-week run this month.
Winner of the Edinburgh Fringe’s Bestie Award in 2024, the show is written, directed and performed by Mercy and co-directed by Joseph Barnes Phillips.
It tells the raw and comedic story of a writer whose career takes off, just as everything else falls apart – exploring what it means to fail and how to rebuild.
Meet Ade—a writer who seems to have it all. Her career is taking off, she’s finally out of her mum’s house, and even her situationship is (mostly) under control. But just when life seems perfect, things start to unravel.
Phillips is also the dramaturg, with sound design by Mikaiyiri and dramaturg also by Jules Haworth.
Mercy’s previous projects include Quarter Life Crisis. She also worked on the Channel 4 adaptation of Candice Carty Williams novel Queenie.
Failure Project opens at Soho Theatre, Dean Street, from May 29 to June 14, with previews on May 27 and 28. Tickets: Failure Project
