Sidonie Smith and Adam Garcia will lead The Bodyguard, the musical based on the Oscar-nominated film, when it heads to New Wimbledon Theatre as part of its new UK and Europe tour.
From producers Michael Harrison and David Ian, the show will star Smith as Rachel Marron and Garcia as Frank Farmer, with Sasha Monique as Nicki Marron and Matt Milburn as Sy Spector. At certain performances, the role of Rachel Marron will also be played by Mireia Mambo.
Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love.
The romantic thriller also features a host of soundtrack of classics including Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, Run to You, I Have Nothing, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and I Will Always Love You.
Based on Lawrence Kasdan’s 1992 movie starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, The Bodyguard is directed by Thea Sharrock with book by Alex Dinelaris. It had its world premiere at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End before an 18-month UK & Ireland tour. The show returned to the West End at the Dominion Theatre ahead of two further sell out tours of the UK and Ireland in 2018/19 and 2023.
The Bodyguard begins its new UK and Europe tour this September, visiting New Wimbledon Theatre from Monday, February 16 to Saturday, February 21, 2026. Tickets: The Bodyguard
