Rosie Day’s upcoming (This is not a) Happy Room is now in rehearsals, with the writer set to star alongside Amanda Abbington when the play begins this month at London’s King’s Head Theatre.
From Kate Galloway Productions, the show sees Hannah Price direct a cast including Abbington, Day, Andrea Valls and Jonny Weldon. The company is completed by Jazz Jenkins, Tom Kanji and Alison Liney.

Meet the Hendersons, a happily dysfunctional family, reuniting for their dad’s third (or fourth?) wedding. Nobody expects the death of his bachelorhood to become an actual funeral… but it would be a waste of the buffet not to repurpose it, right?
Following the West-End run of her critically acclaimed Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon, Day’s new searingly sharp dark comedy is described as Saltburn meets Schitt’s Creek.
Sound design is by Adrienne Quartly, lighting design by Rory Beaton, and set and costume design by Georgia de Grey.
(This is not a) Happy Room premieres at King’s Head Theatre on March 31, running until April 27.
